There??s something for everyone at CAN, from helping make Easter bonnets for the gay Easter parade to planning activities for our Social Committee, to doing HIV prevention in internet chat rooms, to serving on the Community Advisory Board to help guide CAN's programs.

As a community-based organization (CBO), the NO/AIDS Community Awareness Network (CAN) is dependent upon our volunteers to succeed in our mission. Continually new volunteers join the growing CAN family; developing personal experiences and sharing their humanity.
There are many different ways that you CAN get involved in this program. Even if you do not see something you like to do listed, we can work with you to develop your own volunteer activities. We are looking for creative and fresh ideas as well as enthusiastic individuals who want to get involved in the community to make a difference.
Everyone has unique skills and experiences that CAN contribute to prevent HIV/AIDS!

Outreach activities for the CAN office are on hold until training facilities and supervisory personnel can be established. Trained outreach volunteers can contact the CAN office (504-945-4000) for information on current opportunities that are avilable.
