Thursday, July 14th, 2011 NO/AIDS Task Force is asking locals to make a date to make a difference and dine out for its 16th annual Dining Out For Life fund-raiser. NO/AIDS has teamed with over 75 area restaurants to raise funds for men, women and families affected by HIV and AIDS in Southeast Louisiana. This year’s co-chairs of the event are Tom Fitzmorris, local radio personality and food critic, and Susan Spicer, celebrity chef and owner of Bayona and Mondo.
It’s simple. Dine at one of the more than 75 restaurants participating, order your favorite culinary delights, sit back, relax and enjoy! At the end of the day, those participating restaurants will donate 25 percent of the daily proceeds to NO/AIDS Task Force.
For over 28 years, NO/AIDS Task Force has been providing hope, care and compassion to thousands of men, women and families affected by HIV & AIDS in Southeast Louisiana. The Task Force acknowledges that the complications of HIV-disease are not just physical, but mental, emotional and social as well. That is why the agency offers a full spectrum of care at low to no cost, including services such as: an HIV medical clinic, food pantry, home delivered meals, housing, mental health, medications, and many others. NO/AIDS also remains committed to the health of our entire community and reaches over 20,000 each year through HIV prevention education efforts. For more information, please visit http://www.noaidstaskforce.org or call 504-821-2601.
For 16 years, Dining Out For Life has been a great way to support not only NO/AIDS Task Force, but also our amazing restaurant industry. Dining Out For Life takes place each year in July, during the typical summer slow-down for restaurants. It’s historically been a great boost for participating restaurants who see a marked jump in business.
