Client Services

  1. Peer Support Services

    The Peer Support program provides a variety of outlets for clients to access support from others who are living with HIV, in a confidential environment.

  2. Food for Friends (Pantry)

    Eligible clients are able to receive 2-10 pound bags of groceries once a month.

  3. Food for Friends (Home-Delivered Meals)

    Eligible clients receive 15 meals a week delivered to their home.

  4. Recovery Works (Substance Abuse Treatment)

    This program provides specialized treatment for individuals whose lives have been adversely affected by the use of alcohol and/or drugs.

  5. Non-Medical Case Management

    A case manager serves as a liaison between the client and community resources to ensure that support systems for people living with HIV/AIDS are available.

Education/Prevention

  1. RESPECT

    Online intervention for the gay community to discuss HIV risk issues and men’s health.

  2. Mobile HIV Counseling and Testing (Carevan)

    Free, rapid HIV antibody screening is offered in a variety of settings, days and times by the NO/AIDS Task Force. The test used is the OraQuick Advance, which is over 99% accurate with results ready in 20 minutes.

  3. Mpowerment/ReVision

    Re:Vision is an amazing opportunity for gay and bi guys, ages 18-35, to discover themselves and their community by planning social events, organizing volunteer opportunities, attending safer sex workshops and becoming leaders in an innovative new community building program. Lead by a team of outstanding young gay and bisexual guys who work together to form a Core Group, the re:Vision project participates in the NO/AIDS Walk and other fundraising efforts of the NO/AIDS Task Force.

  4. Curbing HIV/AIDS Transmission (among at-risk youth) – (CHAT)

    The C.H.A.T. Project is a peer to peer, safer sex, HIV prevention program. Based in creativity, education, outreach, and referrals, C.H.A.T. addresses the increased rate of HIV among African-American youth between the ages of 15-22, that are faced with such challenges as coming out of the juvenile justice system, homelessness, and addiction.

  5. Wellness Management/Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services (CRCS)

    Wellness management is designed for to help persons living with HIV/AIDS or at risk for HIV who struggle with issues such as substance use and abuse, physical and mental health, social and cultural factors that affect HIV risk and to help them adopt or maintain risk reduction activities and healthy living.

  6. Prevention Materials

    We provide prevention materials (condoms) to MSM bars/bathouses in mainly the FQ Area

  7. Venue-Based Outreach

    The Task Force uses community and venue-based outreach to talk to the MSM community, adolescents, injection drug users, sex workers, and other high-risk individuals in a non-threatening and non-judgmental manner about their behavior.

Housing

  1. Housing Choice Vouchers

    The Housing Department of NO/AIDS Task Force is pleased to announce the availability of 200 Housing Choice Voucher Program vouchers for people living with HIV/AIDS in New Orleans. As this may be an unfamiliar program for some people, we decided to present the information in a more user friendly and readable question and answer format. As all of these vouchers need to be distributed by the end of September, we hope the information about the program is a timely tool for you or someone you may know in need of stabilized housing.

Primary Medical Care

  1. Mental Health

    This program provides individual, family, and couples therapy, as well as psychiatric medication management.

  2. Medical Transportation

    Medical transportation is provided to clients that are case managed by NO/AIDS Task Force in order to access health care services.

  3. Medical Nutritional Therapy

    Medical Nutritional Therapy includes education/counseling for nutritional needs, development of an individual nutritional care plan and counseling to include health promotion, disease progression and disease prevention as it relates to nutrition.

  4. Home Health Care

    Home health services are available and provided by a licensed/certified home health agency in a home or community-based setting. in accordance with a written, individualized plan of care established by a licensed physician.

  5. Medication Assistance Program

    NO/AIDS Task Force clients are able to access medications through an agreement with Avita Drugs. Medications can be mailed out via UPS, one-day air, or picked up by the patient. Avita Drugs is co-located in the same building as NO/AIDS.

Volunteer Services

  1. Volunteer Services

    Volunteers are the heart of NO/AIDS Task Force. They support paid staff to provide comprehensive assistance for HIV/AIDS affected and/or infected individuals, their families and loved ones. Like our clients, volunteers come from every segment of the community. They share the common bond of providing informative care and counseling for those whose lives have been touched by HIV/AIDS or who seek education about HIV /AIDS infection and risk reduction.
